The Hillcrest congregation supports many organizations
Outreach and Mission at Hillcrest is where faith meets action. Guided by our belief in loving God and neighbor, we partner with local organizations, support global ministries, and respond to needs both near and far. From collecting food and winter clothing to assembling flood buckets and supporting UMCOR, we strive to be a tangible blessing in the world. Whether it’s packing meals, writing cards, or showing up for someone in crisis, Hillcrest’s outreach is about showing up with grace, generosity, and hope — together.
The Outreach and Mission group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10:30am in the Library.
A few of our annual partnerships include:
Bridging – Supplies furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness or poverty.
Hillcrest Community School – Supports students and families through snack donations, school supplies, and seasonal outreach efforts that promote dignity and care.
Homeless Care Packets – A grassroots ministry led by a local community member, assembling care packets filled with snacks, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement for those experiencing homelessness.
Normandale Community Cupboard – A collaborative effort to address food insecurity among students and families connected to Normandale Community College.
UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) – Hillcrest assembles flood buckets and supports disaster relief efforts worldwide.
VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) – Supports families in Bloomington and surrounding communities with food, housing, and transportation assistance.
